Woo hoo! Coal Plant Dinosaurs Finally Laid to Rest!

Chicago has 2 coal fired power plants within its City limits. That is just unheard of these days. These mega-polluters have been around for 100 years, spilling CO2 into the atmosphere and blanketing the city in toxic chemicals (including the resident’s lungs!). Today, Mayor Emmanuel and Midwest Generation (owner/operator of the Fisk and Crawford plants) agreed on plan to close one by the end of 2012 and the other in 2014. This is amazing! Rejoice!!
