The south end of the second floor is getting closer and closer to completion. It is great to see the new carpeting and flooring as the space comes together.

This is the main floor near the library entrance. The new carpet is being put down.

Here is the wood flooring for the coffee bar area.

This will be the area with most of the library’s open computers, known as Electronic Alley.

Here is the reference desk…or at least pieces of it.

The movers arrived again this week and are helping us move one more time. The construction is very close to complete (only a few more weeks!). Everything on the first floor had to be moved so that the rest of the collection can be brought back and reshelved.

Here are boxes of reference books.

Despite the movers, students continued to study for finals.

This piece student art, effectionately known as Redman, has become the informal mascot of the library and has kept a close eye on our progress.

The computers have been removed from the network temporarily and will be set up in the new space soon!

We’ve had some big changes over the last week. We now have a temporary entrance that we are using during this stage of the remodeling. Things are really looking great.

This photo doesn’t do our new entrance justice, but this is our tempary digs until everything is finished up. Students and the public must use the 107th side of the L Building for the entrance.

This is the current status on the “old” (regular) entrance to the library on the 2nd floor.

The guys are currently wiring the new library classrooms.
