Congratulations to the MVCC Glacier

The Library wishes to congratulate the staff of the Moraine Valley student newspaper, The Glacier.  Here’s a bit of great news:

The Glacier, Moraine Valley’s student newspaper, took first place in Overall Excellence at the annual Illinois Community College Journalism Convention at Harold Washington College April 10. The paper also was awarded second place in layout, and 16 students received individual awards. Congratulations to Ted Powers, the Glacier advisor, and his team.

Earth Day Films Held in the Library

Update: The library is back open for business.  Online access has been re-established.

The Library is one of the areas that will be affected by the planned power outage on Saturday, April 26. The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25 and will re-open on Sunday, April 27 at 12 p.m. Access to the library’s online catalog will not be available at all and access to the library’s electronic databases will not be available from off campus during this time. Students needing to use a computer on Saturday are directed to the open lab in the T building. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Questions may be directed to Maria D’Aversa at ext. 5262.

Race In America Podcast Available

Yesterday, the library hosted it’s final One Book program entitled, Race In America: Talking About America’s Biggest Issue. This was an excellent program with a great crowd.
