featuring Dr. Jan Hessler onSept. 24, 1 p.m., in the Library Lounge. Dr. Hessler is a physicist at Argonne National Laboratory, and he will discuss the evidence and implications of climate change. We hope you will join us.

Thursday, August 28th, 2008New Print System in the Library
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008The Library has a new print system:
- You can either purchase a print card or can use currency to pay as they print in the Library. Print cards are required to print in the “Open Lab” in the T Building and in the B271 computer lab.
- The old print cards do not work with the new print system.
- If you want to transfer value from an old print card to a new card:
1. They must buy a new print card.
2. Take both the old card and the new card to the Circulation Desk.
3. The Circulation staff will transfer the value on the old card to the new card.
4. This service will be available only until September 21st. - A print card cost $1.00 but comes with $0.50 worth of printing. The print card dispenser takes one dollar bills only.
- Print card dispensers are located in the Library and in the “Open Lab” in the T Building.
- The print station and printers have been moved to the tall tech carrels at the back corner of the electronic alley.
- The computer number of the PC is used to distinguish the print jobs.
- To release a print job:
1. Click on the computer number that corresponds to the PC.
2. A screen will appear that lists all the print jobs for that computer number.
3. Click on the print job(s) you want to print.
4. The cost for printing the print job will be displayed in a window. The “print” button will be grayed out.
5. Insert print card and/or currency into the machine. The printer will take bills, coins, or print cards.
6. When the value entered matches the value of the print job, the “print” button will be displayed. Click on the “print” button. The print job will be printed.
Upcoming Power shut downs impact services
Monday, August 25th, 2008Electrical power shut downs scheduled for Saturdays, Sept. 13 and 20, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., will affect Library services. The Library will be closed, and access to the Library’s online catalog and electronic databases will not be available from off campus during this time. Students who need to use a computer will be directed to the open lab in Building T.
